The Southeast Louisiana Council offers several camping experiences for Scouts BSA members at Salmen Scout Reservation, also known as "Camp V-Bar", in Kiln, MS. The camp is 1400 acres with about 350 acres of that developed for Scouting activities. The major annual Scouts BSA camping activities at camp include Summer Camp, Thanksgiving Camp, Winter Camp, and Shoot Swim Climb Weekend.

Nestled in the pine trees and red clay dunes surrounding Morning Glory Lake in rural Mississippi lies Salmen Scout Reservation, commonly referred to as "Camp V-bar".  Annually, during the week of Thanksgiving, the Southeast Louisiana Council holds Thanksgiving Camp.

At Thanksgiving Camp, you will enjoy outdoor camp living and earn merit badges not normally offered during summer camp, including those required for Eagle.

Thanksgiving Camp also has the Pathfinder Program for first-year Scouts and offers more than 25 diverse Merit Badge Classes. Stay tuned for this year's dates and registration information. Camp fills up fast!

Winter Camp is another opportunity for Scouts BSA to come out and enjoy a week at Camp V-Bar. Winter camp takes place after Christmas and before New Years'. It's a great way for Scouts to earn Merit Badges. The Pathfinder Program is also offered for first-year Scouts. Winter Camp fills up fast, so make sure to get your spot as soon as registration goes live!
