The Council Properties Committee invites all volunteers to a workday at Salmen Scout Reservation this Saturday, March 22nd, at 9:00 am. Recently, Richard Thompson from Crew 48 graciously agreed to fund the cost of refurbishing and re-certifying the low COPE course for use by Scouts and other camp visitors. A plan exists to accomplish the work but help will be needed to meet the goal of being able to use the low COPE course by the time of this year’s Summer Camps.
This weekend primarily will involve continued removal of brush, cleaning of elements, and preparing certain elements for repairs. Of course, anyone who wants to help on some other project just needs to let Ken Klemm, the Vice President for Properties, know so that he can coordinate with Pat Necaise, the Camp Ranger, in terms of the logistics for such project. But, for the low COPE course, please bring brush cutting tools, gloves, water, lunch, and anything else to help you during the day. You remain free to stay as long or as short of a duration permitted by your schedule, but any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
