Unit Leaders and Scout Families,
As a direct response to the increase in the cost of Scouting this year, and in response to the disruption caused by the current economic shutdown, The Southeast Louisiana Council is providing an opportunity for Units and individual Scout families to participate in a Spring fundraiser. Scouting’s “Good Turn” Discount App is a $20 digital membership to hundreds of local and online retailers with thousands more across the country. The membership is downloaded on an app and is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
How do I sell, and what does my Scout make on each membership?
This fundraiser is being provided at no up-front cost to Units or Scouts. Each membership will be sold for $20 with 65% coming back to Scouting. Total profit on each membership is $13, Scouts will receive $8 to go towards personal Scouting costs. Normally $5 returns to support Scouting at the Council Level but this year we are donating all of our revenue to support the community and we hope that it will help add value to what our Scouts are asking.

The fundraiser is 100% online. Units can organize to participate, or families can sell individually. Units who participate can have a single check routed to them at the end of the sale by designating a unit leader contact and an address to mail the check. Families who are in a unit not participating together will be contacted individually to receive payment.
The sale will run from April 15th through June 1st. Checks are expected to be distributed in July (Funds are distributed by the company quarterly).
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Join
• JOIN YOUR FUNDRAISER – Go to https://fundraising.entertainment.com/seller/signup/boy-scouts-of-america-southeast-louisiana-council-214 to our fundraiser.
• SEARCH WITH GROUP ID – This Group ID accesses your BSA Council fundraising page - 100005611
• SELECT YOUR FUNDRAISER – Double check the Council name and city and state.
· SIGN UP TO JOIN – Yes! You want to join to start your sales and create your personal page.
2. Sign up
• LEGAL AGE REQUIREMENT – Indicate your age. Parents are emailed when a juvenile signs up.
• IF UNDER 18 – Parent information and email are needed for those under 18 years of age.
• SCOUT SIGN UP – Complete the Scout information.
· ENTER BSA UNIT NUMBER – Unit number is very important to track your sales.
3. Set up & Share
• SET UP YOUR PROFILE – Add your email. Create a password.
• PERSONALIZE YOUR PAGE – Add a photo if you want!
• SHARE YOUR PAGE – Send a link directly to your page to family and friends through email, text or post.
• EMAIL WITH A MESSAGE! – Email a personal message about this sale to your contacts through the Raisy system or email your personalized link through a personal email account.
